As a leading provider of acoustic treatments and insulation, CoBuilt was thrilled to have the opportunity to work on the Rotorua headquarters of Scion, a Crown Research Institute focused on technology development for the forestry industry.

The building emerges as a true work of art, with considerable detail and strong timber features showcasing the beauty and functionality of wood-fibre technology. Its timber features not only serve to tell the story of the region, but also reflect expert craftsmanship and engineering prowess.

Our team had the privilege of installing over 4500 square meters of insulation along with acoustic treatments. For the floors we utilised the Expol systems with 120 mill insulation, while also insulating walls and ceilings. The result is a functional and awe-inspiring headquarters that tells the story of the region and showcases the form and function of the product through its architectural design.
